Many thanks for your reply, what I meant what was the distance from one to the other. I have a birth in Prudence in 1757 and one known in South Kingstown 1793.(this is father and son) realise that these would be church records if even possible to find. Oh, the distance is very small. Rhode Island is a small state and you can drive from one end to the other in slightly less than an hour. Traveling to Prudence Island from South Kingstown would have been most likely by boat from Saunderstown on Narragansett Bay directly to the island or first to Newport and then to Prudence. Depending on weather conditions of course it could be quite a short trip. What is the surname you are looking for.
