Me again--look at this entry in the 1870 RI Census M593_1480 Providence Wd 8 page 72 stamped page 306: the place of birth for the mother fits--maybe she remarried: WAYLAND William(44)Ire painter, Mary A(41)Eng Keeping house; GLISPIN Isabella(19)MA works in Wollen Mill, Josephine(18)MA works in jewelry manuf., Agnes(16)MA works in cigar manuf., Mary A(13)MA at school, William(9)MA at school; WAYLAND George H or K(1)RI at home After finding this, I looked at the NEHGS Website in the MA Vital Records and found this information: GLISPIN Eliza Josephine Town of Leicester, Wocester Co, MA 1852 Vol 65 p172 Born Jul 25 1852 parents Michael (Laborer born Ireland) and Mary Ann Glispin **Also living in the area and having children at the same time were three other couples: John and Jane Glispin; James and Ann Glispin; Thomas and Anastasia Glispin. The families of John and James are together on the 1850 Census MA with a lady who appears to be their mother--Catherine Glispin age 60. I found Michael's family and James' transcribed as Glispie instead of Glispin in the 1860 CENSUS MA Worcester Co, Milford page 222: Michael Glispie 34 Ireland Male Boot Finisher Mary A 30 England Female Isabell M 10 Massachusetts Female Eliza J 8 Massachusetts Female Agnes S 6 Massachusetts Female Mary Ann 2 Massachusetts Female William 1 Massachusetts Male Nearby in in Mendon, Worcester Co, MA: James Glispie 40 Ireland Male Ann 43 England Female Charles 20 England Male Catherine 19 England Female Thomas 14 Massachusetts Male James 12 Massachusetts Male Mary A 2 Massachusetts Female Then on Genealogy.com I found a marriage record that is probably Eliza's parents: Michel Glispin Marriage Index: Massachusetts, 1633-1850 Married: Dec 04, 1849 in: Leicester, Worchester Co., MA Gender: M This record can be found at: Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT, Film # 0858547. Spouse name: Hogan, Mary Ann There are still Glispins in Worcester Co as recent as a year 2000 online Directory! There is so much info right there waiting to be found on your families.
