I've "rescued" the original marriage certificate belonging to Joshua F. HILTON of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Almeda J. PROCTOR of Windham, Maine who were married on the 25th of December 1872 at Windham, ME by Luther WISWALL, Ordained Minister. Based on limited research I find this same couple living in Wells, ME during the 1880 census along with Joshua's father Frederick HILTON. The family includes Frederick HILTON age 84, born in ME to parents also born in ME, Joshua F. HILTON age 38, born in ME to parents born in ME, a Farmer by trade. Joshua's wife, Almeda J. HILTON age 27, born in ME to parents born in ME, and two male children, Malville H. age 6, and Marston age 1, both born in ME as well. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to its rightful place with family.
