Hi, I am looking for any information on my g-grandfather JOHN ALEXANDER LIND son of ALEXANDER AND ALICIA LIND. I believe that John was born in Providence, RI, Jan 1844. He appears there on the 1900 census on 22 Haswell St Providence where he was married to Annie Bridget Keliher. I am trying to trace the family back to their Irish root and any information that I get will, I hope be helpful. Of course if someone can tell me where in Ireland they came from that would be wonderful, but I don't expect that to happen:) There is, to make matters worse, a family story that says that a job foreman found the original family name difficult and so changed it to LIND. My grandfather assumed that the original name was LYNN or LINN, but neither of those sound Irish to me. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you for you time and help, Susan Sherman
