Good morning, I am interested in the TAYLOR family of Foster/Scituate, Providence Co., RI, of the 1700s. William TAYLOR (abt 1760-1802) m. Sarah SLATER (d. 1808). William was the son of Thomas TAYLOR; Sarah SLATER was the daughter of Joseph SLATER/SLAFTER/SLAUGHTER and Hannah COVEL. On 17 Jan 1783, George BAKER of Foster sold to William TAYLOR of Foster a house and lot in Killingly and Foster for 1 shilling. This included the residence of Widow Hannah Slater. The deed excepted the widow's third share of the house. On the same day, George BAKER of Foster sold to William TAYLOR of Foster 15 acres in Foster for 40 silver dollars. This property was partially bounded by Widow Hannah Slater's property. On 7 Apr 1783, William TAYLOR of Foster sold to George BAKER of Foster 38 acres in Foster, for 90 pounds, that was partially bounded by Widow Hannah Slater's property. On 16 Feb 1795, William TAYLOR of Foster sold to George BAKER of Foster and Daniel PEYTON of Killingly, CT, 70 acres in Foster for 108 pounds. In 1800, William Taylor is living in Burlington, Otsego Co., NY, where he died in 1802. Does anyone have knowledge of a BAKER relationship to the TAYLORS or SLATERS? Kim
