I am still trying to find infomation on Lydia Olney Phillips. Born c1805 in Foster, RI Lee

Who was this Olney guy and why was so many of our ancestors given the middle name of Olney. My ancestor is John Olney Hopkins..born 1812...Probably Foster, as parents born there...but can't find his birth or marriage, but his grave stone in Acotes in Chepachet has his daughers name on it... Matilda Lane Hopkins.... Providence death book 78, pg 1286 age 36 at time of death. Gravestone says: daughter of John O Hopkins & Angeline. But can't find any Angeline .... Any takers???
