Hi, I am trying to research the Roberts Family of Warwick and Providence, RI. I am especially interested in the marriage of John Roberts, son of Peter Roberts and Amey Colvin. It is said that he married a Susannah MAYHEW. Since the correct parents of Susannah can't seem to be found, I am wondering if maybe John was her second husband and MAYHEW was not her maiden name. John was supposedly born 23 Apr. 1727 in Providence and married abt. 1745-1747. John and Susannah eventually moved to Manchester, Vermont where John, 3 siblings and his father fought with the Green Mountain Boys. I have a picture of the headstone for Susannah from VT. but VT. has nothing on her maiden name. Any help in verifying who the real parents of Susannah are who be a real bonus. I do not believe it is Zachias, Zacheus, John or Simon. The MAYHEW family originally came from Martha's Vineyard, MA. The Susannah that is always mentioned was born in 1714.
