I received a copy of what should have been my mother's death certificate and WOW was it ever wrong. My mother was Ernestine Pamela Bisno Morgan, born 18 January 1914 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts; died 18 December 1949 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The obit was done correctly. Who ever gave the info at her death ( I believe it was my great Aunt Ernestine) gave my Aunt Rose's name and birthdate instead. Was I ever shocked. Sometimes the records are not what they should be and now after 50 years there is no way to correct it. Yes there is something that you can about it. You can get the death record corrected. When my father died in 1959 his death record held several mistakes including the misspelling of his last name. We notified the Vital Records department in Detroit and they indeed did correct the death record and reissued a new death cert.
