    1. Re: Rhode Island Vital Statistics
    2. Kathy No, you can't access indexes of Vital Statistics in Providence from 1636 to the 1950's on line. But there are ways around it. Someone created an index of Rhode Island's Vital Statistics. The Index can be found on Ancestry and is also available on a CD. But it's not complete. It must have been created from the Town files not the State files because it isn't complete. Information on the Blackstone Valley Towns and East Providence are either skimpy or just not there. The Index covers the early 1850's to the early 1930's. The State Archives has Vital Indices from the early 1850's but that's hard copy. Try this site for deaths, it's a good source. _http://www.rootsweb.com/~rigenweb/cemetery/_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~rigenweb/cemetery/) Paul McEnanly
