Looking for descendants of James ASQUITH, born Jan or Feb 1821, probably in Lancashire, and came to the United States in 1880 as a widower. The family lived in the Lincoln/Saylesville, Central Falls and Pawtucket areas. James ASQUITH married Sophia WALKER and had nine children: John H., born 1848, married Elizabeth BICKERSTAFF in Blackburn in 1877, then immigrated that same year to US>RI, had three children: Annie (b. 1871, d. 1940, married a HASKELL, had a son named John Ellis), Leonard (b. 1877, d. 1944, married Elizabeth HASKELL) and Sophia born 1880) Amelia, b. 1851, married John WILKINSON in Bury in 1872 then immigrated and had one child that lived to adulthood named Everett, born 1882) David, b. abt. 1852, married Ada HARRISON in 1883 in Smithfield, RI after immigrating, had two daughters: Ada Sophia (b. 1885, married a SMITH) and Annie (b. 1891). David and wife lived in Boston, Massachusetts by 1912. Mary Jane, b. 1857, immigrated 1874, married Herbert PEARSON about 1876 in RI, had three children: Ernest, Lydia (b. 1878, married a BRITTON) and Zoe (b. 1880) Cornelius, born 1859, married Alice LITTERICK in 1884 after immigrating to RI in 1880, had three children: Thomas (b. 1885), Sophia (b. 1888) and James (b. 1891) James: stayed in England and died 1938, two sons; Fred and John H. (died 1918) Samuel, stayed in England (died 1948, probably in Accrinton, Lancs) There were also two children that I do not have names for yet. James (born 1821) had a brother named William who may have come to the US also, but at least had four sons who immigrated to the US before about 1900.
