I also have a bunch of Nickerson's and Eldredges from Cape Cod. Also Ellises, and Crowells. I imagine that your folk migrated from Cape Cod at some point, since that is where the immigrant William Nickerson settled. Those lines of mine went north to Maine. All were there by the end of the 1790's.
