    2. http://www.courts.state.ri.us/records/forms.htm Try to see if they it was done locally. I was quite pleased with how they handled my request. unfortunately they didn't have the records. I then went to NARA in Waltham where one of mine was found. One out of two isn't bad. I know someone else who had a person in RI who finally found the papers for them in Taunton, MA. Just across the state line. Pam

    1. Naturalization papers?
    2. Could someone please tell me where I can find Naturalization papers? I've been researching the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Census records. There are many of my ancestors with a year that states when they were naturalized. Thank you for any information you can guide me with. Always, Kimberly (in sunny Las Vegas, a little warmish---105 today)

    3. go to http://www.naturalizationrecords.com/ Explanations are given here. AL = alien, have not applied for any form of naturalization PA = Permament alien, started the process toward naturalization (not Pennsylvania, ok?) NA = naturalized, already citizen Caveat? Declaration of Intent and Petition for Naturalization are not necessary in same place, or even same state. Now that I see you are living in Las Vegas, can you do me a favor of try to retrieve naturalzation record of George Sanderson around 1918 in Las Vegas' courthouse. I couldn't get through any phones there. Always BUSY. It is for my friend Dr. Robert Sanderson. George was his father and Dr. Sanderson is in his 80s now and havent able to find where they were married, much less where his mother's birthplace really was. (the record is NOT in the National Archives or even in BCIS -formerly INS, already checked.) 1. Re: [RIPROVID] St. Vincent dePaul Infant Asylum
    2. Would this orphanage have been operating in the early 1940s? If not, does anyone know where a catholic child born in Providence would have been sent at that time? Any help appreciated.

    1. Re: [RIPROVID] St. Vincent dePaul Infant Asylum
    2. St. Vincent DePaul infant asylum was first known as the R.I. Catholic Orphan Asylum. It was located at 283 Prairie Avenue in 1890 - 92. In 1893 St. Vincent DePaul Asylum for infants was located at 42 Park Ave. It stood diagonally across from where the Veteran's auditorium now stands. The R.I. Catholic Orphanage for older children remained at 283 Prairie Avenue. In 1896 St. Vincent's acquired an additional location at Regent Avenue. Is this the kind of information you are looking for?

    3. There are many Curtis Angell names as well as others on My Family People Finder on Ancestry (present day) as well as city directories for Providence from 1867 - 1941. It appears the one in the city directory was in City Government. Several in censuses. I believe there was one in census which would indicate you are correct in the date you give for the photo. 2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of what I believe to be Curtis ANGELL which was taken at the Ye Rose Studio in Providence, Rhode Island. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Curtis likely about 3-4 years old at the time. I'm not completely certain of the first name because of a torn corner, taking with it a portion of the first name, leaving only the last four letters R-T-I-S of the first name. I'm thinking that the name is "Curtis", however, I'm not certain. I'm hoping to locate someone from the ANGELL Family in Providence who might be able to identify this as a member of their family so that the photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
