Hi Doreen: I'm an adopted kid and the best way to get a birth record is to petition the court (write a letter to a judge) and ask for them to release the original birth certificate for that person. I live in Oregon and we have worked very hard to have open records for adult adoptees! I think it is criminal to keep a persons's heredity a secret! This is what Google has to say about the meteor shower. It must have really been something!! _http://www.gardner-webb.edu/GWU/NaturalSci/physics/leonidhistory.htm_ (http://www.gardner-webb.edu/GWU/NaturalSci/physics/leonidhistory.htm) Helen
Hello, Currently, I am in Nova Scotia. Next month I shall be in Marshfield, MA and would like to visit the Court Houses, Libraries and the Moshassuck Cemetery on Lonsdale Ave. Central Falls,/Lincoln, Prov. Co. RI. Is there someone who could give me driving directions from Marshfield, MA. to these locations above? I know that the Father: John BOYD and his Sons are buried in the Moshassuck Cemetery. However, I have no Death information on the Women of this Family, Mary GUTHRIE - BOYD and her daughters: Margaret Fairburn BOYD,(married name unknown) and Mary BOYD-CLARK. I know, Mary BOYD b:Oct 1850 Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland was married to my Great-Grandfather: Alexander CLARK, bca: 1844 Scotland and they resided in Attleboro, Bristol Co. MA. on the 1880 - 1910 Census. However, Alexander was listed as a Widower in 1910 and boarding with Fred Harrison. So, assume Mary BOYD-CLARK died before 1910. Presently, I do not know where She and her Husband, Alexander CLARK are buried. It appears that these Two areas are relatively near each other. These two CLARK & BOYD families were in Ontario, Canada in 1871/72 timeframe; and I believe that they emigrated from there to MA & RI respectively, in 1879. Have there been changes in names of cities and/or Counties in Attleboro, Bristol Co. MA & Lincoln, Providence County, RI since 1880? Locations and directions to the above RI places would be much appreciated. And, of course, any advice one may have to offer. Regards, Barb Clark

PAE NOTE: Obviously for someone to have seen this, they would have had to be awake and probably outside. And it wouldn't have been seen if it was cloudy or foggy. I wonder if it had been predicted. Maybe someone with an online newspaper subscription might be able to find a record of it to share with us. This description comes from NJ. " Meteoric Shower of 1833 On the night of the death of John Lock occurred the renowned display of meteors. This is described as being universally seen and as lasting from before midnight till the dawn prevented further observation of the phenomenon. While there have been during the centuries other noted displays of falling meteors, this display of the 12-13 (Tues. night/Wed. morning) November, 1833, is the greatest one ever witnessed in this country as regards the intensity of the display, the extent of surface covered by it and the duration of the meteoric shower. It was visible over the entire United States and continued during the entire night. ... While in some places the display was accompanied with no noise, in other sections of the country sounds were heard as of objects hissing through the atmosphere, and in others as of explosions of inflammable objects. I'm interested in getting a photograph of three homes in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. One was the home that my grandparents owned, another was the home that I was born in and the other that I lived in until I was 11. My mother died when I was 10 and I was placed with a foster family and moved to Florida in October 1954. All of the homes are within a mile of each other, near 600 Central Avenue. I attended James C. Potter Elementary School on Newport Avenue. Prior to that Saint Leo's on Central Avenue. In exchange I'd be glad to check records here in the world-famous Salt Lake Family History Library.
