Itr wasn't their servers. It was the DNS registry. It started with AOL network and went out of control. I got message from the staff because I'm one of the board-admins. This is the important part of the message you need to know. You can connect use http://216.10.103.21/ to connect to ancestry.com http://63.92.86.187 to connect to boards.ancestry.com (please don't ask me if you have problems logging in) The networks are still fouled up.

Dug up the will of Moses Aldrich, the Quaker Preacher. He named Abigail Smith in the will, written 1761 and proven 1762. But WHERE are Thomas and Abigail? W. David Samuelsen SAMPUBCO
something caught my eye. There's a mystery in this one. Thomas Smith, Jr. son of Thomas and Phebe (Arnold) (figured out he was their son because no other Thomas matched the husband of Abigail Aldrich) and Abigail Aldrich (daughter of Moses Aldrich, the Quaker Preacher and Hannah White) married 6 Apr 1732 Mendon, Worcester Co., MA and further verified by Smithfield MM (Quaker) records. The mystery is: What happened to them since marriage. I don't seem to find any trace of any children if any. Worldconnect at Rootsweb yielded ZERO FamilySearch (LDS) yielded ZERO What happened? W. David Samuelsen SAMPUBCO
I have been able to work in mygenealogy.com, this evening, but everything else under the FamilyTreeMaker umbrella appears to be "down" I hope they are making programming changes that will permit a subscription to any service to be able to access any of the others. It is a nuisance to have World Family Tree through Ancestry.com and the Library Collection thru MyGenealogyl, com and not be able to flip from one to the other.\ John Folsom Orlando, FL
This afternoon I made copies of East Greenwich MM (Quaker) and noticed something interesting. Smithfield MM was set off from East Greenwich because quite a good amount of Births and Deaths were listed for many families who were part of Smithfield for long time. I will transcribe this 20+ pages and post later. The earliest is 1674. W. David Samuelsen
I agree-I have had serious trouble for weeks. I can usually get on but many of the databases don't work. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I am really fed up with paying for something that works only sporadically. I started having problems with it about 8 (EDT) last evening, beginning with the image server, and then the whole site. I tried many time to get on to no avail. Early this morning, still down. And then got about 15 minutes worth of searching census images and it failed again. Guess it's time to quit trying, and go do something else. But when you pay to have access, it should be better maintained! Florence
Hi Florence, I still cannot get into Ancestry. I get error message of site not found. It has been like that all day. I even tried getting in through rootsweb and that did not help. I was looking for Corwin Perry. Search gave me a hit on CA deaths and on Civil War Pension Index. Got to the deaths OK - but get the same annoying error for CWPI that I got earlier today for census images. Their whole system was down for a long time. Then just the images - then the whole thing again. Can you access the info on CWPI Gil? Or are you also limited? Florence

Does anyone know if Ancesrty.com is off the Internet, shut down, being hacked or gone for good. I have not been able to log onto their website since Friday. Even by going thru Rootsweb or other intermediate sites. Is anyone else having the problem? Mike Kennedy Dayton Ohio
Yes, and when or if we renew it will cost $20.00 more for no service. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, September 01, 2001 2:35 PM Subject: [RIPROVID] Forget Ancestry! > At 05:14 PM 9/1/01 -0400, you wrote: > >Hi Florence, > > > >I still cannot get into Ancestry. The Quaker marriage records (51 I sent to the list), usually contains those information, and the dates usually are in numbers and always list several witnesses, never two. The dates in parenthesis happened to be included in the records. Usually they don't.
