    3. Hi, I am trying to research the Roberts Family of Warwick and Providence, RI. I am especially interested in the marriage of John Roberts, son of Peter Roberts and Amey Colvin. It is said that he married a Susannah MAYHEW. Since the correct parents of Susannah can't seem to be found, I am wondering if maybe John was her second husband and MAYHEW was not her maiden name. John was supposedly born 23 Apr. 1727 in Providence and married abt. 1745-1747. John and Susannah eventually moved to Manchester, Vermont where John, 3 siblings and his father fought with the Green Mountain Boys. I have a picture of the headstone for Susannah from VT. but VT. has nothing on her maiden name. Any help in verifying who the real parents of Susannah are who be a real bonus. I do not believe it is Zachias, Zacheus, John or Simon. The MAYHEW family originally came from Martha's Vineyard, MA. The Susannah that is always mentioned was born in 1714. This Susannah died in Ipswich. Cannot be the wife. Sue in Sunny Florida [email protected]

    3. Thank you for the information about no record of Martha's birth or about Daniel. I have found Daniel in the 1790 Federal Census for Smithfield, RI, stating that there are two females in the household. Daniel may be the son of Caleb Buxton, who is also on the 1790 Census. Thank you again for the info.

    3. I recently found what I thought was a brother to my ggrandfather living in Rhode Island. This person, J. James Weeks, d. 25 Oct 1925, age 75 years, married 6 Oct 1875, presumably in RI, Georgeanna Sweet. 2 very kind people have sent me the 1880 & 1900 census entries for this couple. In both of them it says that Joseph J. Weeks was born in the US. I really think he is the person I am looking for (& that person was born in PEI, Canada) because I found, just 2 nights ago, some notes made by an elderly cousin many years ago (who just happened to die this month). My cousin had the names of James Weeks married to a Georgie Sweet. I thought I had hit paydirt....but then those 2 censuses.... Is there SKS out there who could get for me photcopies of J. James Weeks, marriage & death certificates. I will reimburse all costs. Thanks so much, Dawn Ellis [email protected] http://www.geocities.com/dawnellis.geo
