Hi, would someone with access to RI vital records look up a marriage between Katie (Catherine) Hanley and Joseph P. Lahue (Lague) around 1880 in Providence or North Providence, RI. Date and parents would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Andree Florida
Ruthie, You said no reply necessary-but I wanted to thank you for all the Sprague information. I am still not sure of the identity of the Mary Sprague who married Benjamin Lewis ca 1810, but now I have a possible lead to explore. Mary (Sprague) Lewis d 25 Oct 1823. Thank you again. Marcia
Thank you! I believe that this will prove to be the Mary H. Mann that married Benjamin Lewis as his second wife. The birthdate and middle initial match what is on the gravestone. Hello listers, I have managed to set up another mail list that can be used by all to post any type of message you wish. The category and Name may be misleading but you are free to use it for anything you want to post, the only restriction is that attachments are not allowed, however there is a place to upload and download files if you have something you wish to share with others Some of the features are: You can post photos and files to share with others. There is a calendar to post upcoming events, It will be very helpful for planning events such as reunions, meetings, chat sessions, etc.. There is a chat feature that is set up automatically by clicking on a couple of buttons that will allow members to have live chat sessions. There is a "promote" feature that will allow you to send invitations to others to join the list. I hope that you will visit the new mail list site at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Rhode_Island/ to view and use its many features. NOTE TO AOL USERS: I have found that if you are on AOL that it is better to start up AOL then start your Internet Explorer browser to access the site, the pages load much faster through IE, I haven't tried other browsers but the pages load very slowly using AOL's browser. FROM VITAL RECORDS INDEX, RI Did not find a Felix Dorsey/Darcy in this particular index, although there were some earlier deaths recorded there. ********** I have no direct connection to Darcy, and only have the following information because of following the McLAUGHLIN families of Providence. An ANNIE DARCY married Philip McLaughlin on 7 May 1874 in Providence. Annie was 25 years old, born in Providence, daughter of Thomas and Ann Darcy. (Providence Marriages 11:79) Annie died 23 June 1887. Death record gives her name as Annie Louise, age 39-11-21, parents as Thomas and Annie Darcy, wife of Philip, b. in Providence. There were at least five children: Francis (Frank), b. 1875, d. 1896 Arthur, b. 1876 John, b. 1878 Annie, b. 1880 William, b. 1884, d. 1884. Hello List, I have just joined your list, and am posting from Scotland, so please forgive my lack of knowledge of when registration etc began in the various States of the USA.(and where to look for them) I have been many years trying to piece together "my" Darcy antecedents, who came from "Ireland". Have recently found a few snippets on various sites showing people of the name emigrating to Providence.--eg 1. THOMAS (29) and ELLEN (30) DARCY arrived NY aboard the "Caledonia" ex Glasgow, arriving NY 1/9/1907stated destination their Sister Cath(erine?)at what looks like 4th(?411?)?Lippie? St. Providence.(sorry-- writing on manifest a bit dodgy) Also found 2.FELIX DORSEY ,born c.1818 died 12th Nov. 1856, buried In St. Patricks Cemetery,Douglas St. Providence.---- Civil Registration began here in 1856, but did it in Providence, or would there be some other form of record? All the above given names appear in the various Darcy lines which I have looked at with the exception of FELIX, which seems to have been used by "my" line (and all it's sibling families) right down to my own generation(my Father and Brother-- who died in infancy)--so I am particularly interested in 2 above. I would be so very grateful for any/all help information, pointers, etc anyone can give me, to find out more about the" Providence" Darcys--are any of you still out there? In hope---sincerely, [email protected]

Hi all, We have 6 mail lists in Rhode Island, the RIgenweb list is statewide, then we also have one for each county, I posted the same message about the reunion site to each mail list in case some of the county lists subscribers are not subscribed to the state list and might be interested in a reunion also, there probably will be some names come up that are unfamiliar to some of you. The idea did originate on the state list but I'm sure every list may have somebody who may be interested. For the beneifit of all I'll post the link again: Rhode Island List Reunion If the above link does not work here is the URL: http://members.aol.com/kentcori/ Good luck on the reunion, I missed the last one, I hope I can attend this time. *********** Arlan Maguire... Anja, You are very welcome! I am also descended from the Wood family. Elce Wood born 1750 supposedly in England m. James Phillips in Coventry, RI. They migrated in New Berlin, Chenango County, NY in 1811 and Elce died at age 102 and 4 months in Columbus, Chenango Co., NY. Our family has lived there ever since. I have a poem Elce wrote at age 102-beautiful and you could tell she still was in excellent mental shape. Hope I can say the same for me! Elce's siblings stayed in RI. They are Susannah, Rachel and Caleb and they all lived to be very old too. If you think you can connect in any way, I will be happy to share what I have. Regards, Elaine
