Hi Listers: Can some kind soul who has WFT #1702 look up my grandfather: MICHEAL McCHUGH (or McCue). The e-mail I received says he was born between 1836-1885 in Ireland and died beween 1890 & 1950. I know my grandfather died in Providence R.I. in Mar. 1899. Thank you. [email protected]
Hello Listers: I am seeking any information on my grandfather: Michael McCue-McHugh and/or his wife: Catherine (nee Glancy). They settled in Rhode Island after arriving from Ireland in the mid 1800s and married in 1859 in Pawtucket. Their children: Mary died after about 3 months; thomas lived about 18 months; Patrick lived to be 26 and had married Catherine Hackett; James was a mystery all his life. He was born in Central Falls in 1869 and ended up in Maryland in the early 1900s under the alias of Frank Williams. He was a patient in the Baltimore City Hosp. until 1943 where he died. My dad, Peter, was born in 1865 and died in Newark, N.J. in 194l. After my grandmother Catherine died, her husband married widow Maria (nee Fanning) Hanley in 1879 in Providence. Maria had three children of her own: Mary Ann, Patrick and Bridget. Michael & Catherine (with son Thomas) are buried in St. Patrick's cemetery in Cumberland, R.I. [email protected]
Hi All, I am trying to prove my connection to the INMAN line from Smithfield, Providence, RI. I believe it goes like this: John 1580>John 1648>Valentine1686>Oziel 1727> Joseph 1763> *// Rebues abt1790> Cinderella abt 1811m.Zachariah FULLER> Minerva FULLER abt 1825. I am hoping someone here is searching for Joseph's family. I have not found any record ( familysearch.org and ancestry family trees) of Joseph's children. I believe Joseph is father to Rebues as they are the only INMAN's buried in NS015 ' INMAN LOT' of North Smithfield, Prov.,RI. Excepting two young children buried there as well. I think they are children of Rebues as the dates seem to indicate. There is another cemetery NS007 that contains ALOT of INMANs, and FULLERs. I have only determined who mine are, and not the rest. If you are interested in working with me on this task please contact me. Thank-you for any advice or help, Lottie http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=4-4-4-4-6-8
Hi Listers: Seeking the birth of a child to CLARA GUSBERG sometime during the period 1914 to 1918. Also, the location of my uncle PATRICK McCUE'S grave, he died on June 18, 1888 at 26. Also, my ggrandmother: MARY GLANCY who died on July 5, 1883 at 84 and may have been blind.
Hello friends: I asked some volunteer to check on the birth of a child in R.I. to CLARA GUSBERG (father unknown) during the period 1914 to 1917. She responded last week but all of my e-mail has been deleted before I had a chance to print her negative response. Can you refer me to some volunteer to repeat this quest? Thank you. Penny, My ggg grandparents were Joseph BENOIT and Sophia COTE. They moved around New England a lot and lived several places in Maine, Boston, and I think around 1880 in Providence. They were both born in Sorel QC. It took me years to find thier birthplace in QC. If I can help, let me know. Hi, still looking for information on the Gautieri family that settled in Providence after coming from Italy in about 1882. Trying to find out what happened to my husband's grandfather, that left Providence by 1909 and moved to NJ according to his father, Luigi's application for citizenship. Thank you, June Benson Gautieri
To Pennyrue66 I believe I read that there is one Precious Blood Cemetery in two sections; one overlaps the border into Mass. but is considered to be in Providence. My g grandparents are buried here in R>I>. I believe the cemetery is administered by Precious Blood Catholic church. You could write to them for the facts; if they don't know, try the Diocese of Providence. (My g. grandfather was the contractor who rebuilt Precious blood church in the 1880's.) Good luck. Good morning, I am interested in the TAYLOR family of Foster/Scituate, Providence Co., RI, of the 1700s. William TAYLOR (abt 1760-1802) m. Sarah SLATER (d. 1808). William was the son of Thomas TAYLOR; Sarah SLATER was the daughter of Joseph SLATER/SLAFTER/SLAUGHTER and Hannah COVEL. On 17 Jan 1783, George BAKER of Foster sold to William TAYLOR of Foster a house and lot in Killingly and Foster for 1 shilling. This included the residence of Widow Hannah Slater. The deed excepted the widow's third share of the house. On the same day, George BAKER of Foster sold to William TAYLOR of Foster 15 acres in Foster for 40 silver dollars. This property was partially bounded by Widow Hannah Slater's property. On 7 Apr 1783, William TAYLOR of Foster sold to George BAKER of Foster 38 acres in Foster, for 90 pounds, that was partially bounded by Widow Hannah Slater's property. On 16 Feb 1795, William TAYLOR of Foster sold to George BAKER of Foster and Daniel PEYTON of Killingly, CT, 70 acres in Foster for 108 pounds. In 1800, William Taylor is living in Burlington, Otsego Co., NY, where he died in 1802. Does anyone have knowledge of a BAKER relationship to the TAYLORS or SLATERS? Kim

Can anyone offer insight as to why there would have been such a great bargain between these two men? Kim
