Debbye, I can not help as I am 3,000 miles away, but . . I am constantly amazed at the variation in the cemetery rules, no photographs, no information, etc. Within the week, I received two pages of information on descendants in a Cleveland, Ohio cemetery and I may be a third cousin, one removed. I realize many or these cemeteries are private property, but it is too bad they can not be more "user friendly" to the public. I really hope there is SKS that can help you on this request. Success to your in your endeavour. William R. I have found my ggg aunt, Mary Ann (Brooks) Gould, after two years of searching mind you, who is buried in Swan Point Cemetery with her husband Stephen Lane Gould. I contacted the cemetery and they can not give me any information because the owner of the plot is a Charles Gould (who I do not know of) and I am not a direct descendent of his. Therefore, I cannot find out who is buried with them, dates, etc...I know this is a lot to ask... did I say this was two years of looking?, if someone lives near the cemetery, could they possibly check the plot to see who is buried there and the dates? Frederick Butler Thurber b. 1883, son of William Herbert Thurber worked for the Tilden-Thurber Company in Providence. I have also seen a statement that a Frederick Butler Thurber was a world class yachtsman from Providence and sailed around the world. I have not been able to confirm that they are the same person. The web site for the Westerly Yacht Club, Westerly RI mentions a win in the Watch Hill Yacht Club Frederick B Thurber Race. The Watch Hill Yacht Club had a Thurber Race on its calendar in Sept 2001, but the link to the race information is obsolete. I have tried to get information through the club about Frederick B. Thurber, but have not been able to get any information from them. Anyone know if they were the same person, and if so what his interest in yachting was? Did he sail around the world? When? Thanks. Florence

With the help of a grant from the Rhode Island Committee for the Humanities, we have created a personal name Index so that you can more easily locate information about the people who lived and worked here in the past. We have also devised event codes so that you can more easily find birth, death and marriage information. The Index currently covers: July 20, 1892 to Sept 9, 1895." http://www.clan.lib.ri.us/wwa/tni/tni.htm Maybe you'll find some relatives here!
