SORRY.....I hit the wrong button and my incomplete message went out..... I am trying to find the exact present day location of a farm known as Brace's Farm in Newport, RI. My first American ancestor, ROBERT AYARS, purchased this farm (along with his friend, Stephen Mumford) in 1687. It was located at Ochre Point and I believe may have included the land where the "Breakers" now sits. When Ayars and Mumford bought the farm it was 240 acres, late in occupation of Richard Allison....bounded on westby Henry Bull and Jirah Bull; on south by Major John Coggelshall; on east by the Sea; on north by John Easton Sr and by the Common.
