Hello Listers! I am looking for information on the Sullivan family. Here’s what I know: John SULLIVAN (my gggrandfather) married Johanna MURPHY (MURPHEY) on December 6, 1870 in Newport, Rhode Island. He was born May 1, 1850 in Ireland and Johanna was born on May 15, 1850 in Ireland. Together they had nine children: John L. SULLIVAN born in 1874 in US (probably Rhode Island, but I have no record) Michael SULLIVAN born in 1875 in US (probably Rhode Island, but I have no record) Mary SULLIVAN born in 1877 in US (probably Rhode Island, but I have no record) Annie SULLIVAN born in 1878 in US (probably Rhode Island, but I have no record) Dora SULLIVAN (my ggrandmother) born in 1879 in Ireland Kate SULLIVAN born in 1882 in ? Emily SULLIVAN born in 1884 in Ontario, Canada Thomas F. SULLIVAN born in 1888 in Ontario, Canada Lila SULLIVAN born in 1889 in Ontario, Canada I also know from an inheritance letter my grandmother received (Dora Sullivan’s daughter) from Burdick, Corcoran, and Peckham Attorneys at Law located in Newport, RI in 1951 that John SULLIVAN Sr. had at least two siblings (brothers) also living in the Newport, Rhode Island area. William SULLIVAN died before 1951 and had at least five children two of which were Elizabeth SULLIVAN married to a BOHANAN and Margaret SULLIVAN married to a FITZPATRICK. The other brother, Michael SULLIVAN had at least one child that I know of named Katherine N. SULLIVAN. She died in 1951 in Newport, Rhode Island. I found a Michael SULLIVAN that could be a possible link to the family on the 1920 Census of Newport County Rhode Island. He was 66 at this time and widowed. He worked as a contractor. Both his parents were born in Ireland as was he which all ties in with my family. Any information on any of the these people would be greatly appreciated or information on how to further my research since I am at a standstill and would love to be able to find any other siblings John SULLIVAN Sr. had as well as the names of his parents.
