Does anyone have any clues about Frederick P. Garrettson who answered a Pennsylvania school girl's letter on 25Feb 1901 including the following: "My direct ancester who came north from Maryland was Thomas Garrettson, the brother of Freeborn, a celebrated Methodist Clergyman" Frederick P. Garrettson, Mayor of Newport, RI I believe he is the same Frederick P. Garrettson who founded the F.P.Garrettson Tea Company. My hope is that someone can help me make the connection back to Thomas. If there are any Garrettson descendants reading this I would be happy to make your acquaintance and fill you in on the line up to Thomas and most of the descendants in other branches. The Thomas line has been a problem. Thomas m. Rachel Roberts in 1789 in Maryland and later "went to New York." - New York is a big place and census takers were not much concerned about spelling.
