Good Evening Everyone : I'm making an inquiry about an ancestor by the name of Laughlin Dowling. He entered this country at the port of Newport RI in 1826. He came to this country from Ireland. I'm not to sure weather his children eight in number were born in Newport or Providence. The first was born in 1834 and the last in 1849. This Laughlin Dowling received his citizenship in 1835 through the courts in Newport. This Laughlin Dowling also appears in the 1840 & 1850 Federal Census for Rhode Island. I understand his name also appears on a disk in the " Family Tree Maker " series of disk intitled " Passenger & Immigration List Index 1538-1940 " which is disk 354. I also have several land deed's as early as 1833 in Newport. Can anyone help me with this Laughlin Dowling and family. Sincerely Steve Wilder
