Seeking connection to the above surnames in the Tiverton, Little Compton areas of RI. In particular John & Hannah Knowles Pomfret. They emigrated to the US from somewhere in England about 1870-1880 to either Fall River MA or Tiverton RI. They had at least three children, John Pomfret Jr b 1844 died 1936 buried Tiverton RI. Margaret Elizabeth Pomfret, b 1848 died 1930 buried Tiverton RI married Henry L. Slater circa 1869 and Thomas Pomfret b c1861 d 1906. Would like to know where in England they come from and if there might be more children. Child Elizabeth also born in England m. Henry Slater. Can't find any of these persons in 1881 England census or 1880 US Federal census.
