Hello. I'm a former Newporter still researching ancestors in Newport. I've had great luck getting obituaries from the Newport Daily News. If she died in/around Newport then just write them requesting a copy of the obituary from the Newport Daily News. Be sure to give them her full name and approx. death date. I usually enclose a SASE and a small donation. They are a little slow in replying but I've always gotten a response. The Newport Daily News itself only archives back issues for a year.
