    2. Hello, Susan and List, I wonder if we may have a connection in our Shaw lines.....as well as James, Potter, Crandall, Hazard, Wilcox, Greene, Peckham, etc....colorful little group, aren't they? *lol* I descend from Ruth Shaw, and her marriage to John Cook around 1680. Her dad was Anthony Shaw; her mom, Alice Stonard. I believe Anthony's dad to have been John Shaw, but my sources and information on the Shaw family are very sketchy. I, too, would love to exchange information on any of these families, and I'd love to know if we are of the same elusive Shaws. Sincerely, Leslie A. Lanigan Great River, NY

    3. Hello all! Does anyone have access to a Newport County 1910 census to do a lookup for Jamestown, RI. I'm trying to determine if my Grandparents, Thomas Perry(Thomas Pereira Jorge)& Mary Perry(Maria Conceicao Avila) who married in 1898 in New Bedford, Ma were living on the island then. They moved to Jamestown in the early 1900's if not 1900. Also would like to know if his brother-in-law, Joe Dutra lived in Jamestown then. I'm heading for the Azores in May & hope to have the correct records to search with. Thanks so much......... Patricia

Joan Cooke, b.d.m., and some Slocum and Cooke line data, try the Mormon's site www.familysearch.org, enter both names, enter "United States", then enter "Massachusetts", and try the pedigree files...you'll find at least one which will work. Although only as good as the contributing sources, this Mormon site is a wonderful place to start looking, but you need to back it up with primary sources afterwards. His fathers name was Joseph A. Tucker but I cannot get past him. I have been trying for a long time to find his parents. I think they came from Mass. and then NY. Joseph A. was b. 1825? He married Janette Byam and lived in Ceres, Allegheny Co. NY and then Dansville, Steuben Co. NY. Abraham was b. 1870 and was named after Joseph's middle name Joseph and Jannette also had a daughter named Caroline Elizabeth (Carrie) b. 1874. Carrie married a Maxon and then a Howard. I have a little more info. but not much.
