Hello everyone, I am researching the Remington family in Kent Ct.and have come across some unpleasant but very interesting information about my third great-grandfather, Richmond Remington. It is said that he murdered his wife, Rose Wickes Remington and then killed himself in 1823. The date has been given variously as May 26 or May 31. Richmond is listed in John Sterling's book on Coventry RI Cemeteries as having a solitary grave, now obliterated, on a lot on Clark Rd.near Arkwright. I hope to get up this summer. In the meantime, perhaps someone could tell me if there were local newspapers in existence at that time which might have reported this event? Were there coroners who might have held an inquest of some type? Any information that would help me to be able to focus my search would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Kay Larsen
