    1. Re: The GREENE and BRIGGS Families
    2. Hi, again: If anyone can sort out, once and for all, the Greene and Briggs clans in old RI, I will give them a million dollars!!! NO ONE seems to know for positive how the Greenes go....OR the Briggs families, as far as documention! More later. Hopefully, we can do this in our lifetime. Barb By.

    1. Re: RI Kent Co/An Interesting Observation!
    2. Hi all....I, again, have made an observation just since we have been putting on our Roll Call. Almost all of you are related to me...either in a big way, or in some "one name" smaller way!!! This is what makes genealogy so very much fun and satisfying!! I have no living family at all, so YOU all are my family now!! (True, you date back to the 1600s, but who cares abt that?!!!). Thanks for listening! If anyone needs any info from me just e-mail me! Barb Byington West Coast, Shasta County

    3. Here are some of the Kent County names I'm researching: Aylesworth, Gorton, Heath, Johnson, Olin, Phillips, Weaver, Wood Does anyone know of Thomas Phillips (1762-1833), son of James Phillips, who married Catherine Johnson (1771-1824)daughter of Ebenezer Johnson?? They later settled in Preston, CT. I descend from their son, Thomas Phillips, Jr. and am having much difficulty finding information about these people. Sally Cox in Anchorage, Alaska cscox@gci.net

    3. I have a Lydia Weeden who married Samuel Sweet in 1768 in East Greenwich. She is the daughter of Caleb and Lydia Weeden. Lydia, the widow of Caleb Wood, had numerous siblings named Edward, Peleg, Benjamin, Phebe, and Daniel all from East Greenwich. Your Weeden may have been named for a relative so it could be a place to start. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 3. I am happy to be part of a small group. My family interest is SWEET, for which I am at a dead end. Specifically Albert Kilton Sweet, born in Norwood, RI, in 1889. I have his death certificate but no birth certificate. State archives is unable to locate a marriage certificate (maybe 1911) or a record of any divorce (1912-1926). Albert was black. His parents were possibly servants. Not a well documented group. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ **LC** "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." 1. Flanagans and Bells
    2. I'm researching in the area of East Greenwich the Flanagan and Bell families. My GGGrandfather William Flanagan and wife Maria Coulahan emigrated from County Clare, Ireland in 1858 with at least their daughter Elizabeth Agnes b. 1856 and my GGrandfather William Edward b. 1858 and settled in East Greenwich. Nicholas Bell emigrated from County Tipperary and settled in the Providence area. He married an Ann Mullen and their daughter Ellen Marie married William Edward Flanagan. What I'm trying to do with some success I might add, is to identify all of the brothers and sisters of William E. Flanagan and Ellen M. Bell, then from their descendants and the descendants of their cousins the Fitzgeralds, Mullens, & Corrs hopefully identify specifically where in Counties Clare and Tipperary the families were originally from.
