I have made several inquiries for a death notice in and around Livingston County, MO, with no success. I have court documents that indicate Phoebe Bolen Harper and Ignatius Riggs were divorced on July 5, 1873, in Chillocothe, MO. You mentioned he died in 1857, could this be a typographical error. According to the 1880 Missouri census Ignatius was still living in Chillocothe, MO. I am very sure we are following the same Riggs family, because my grandfather, John W. Riggs, was a brother to Silas and Benjamin Hart Riggs. I have been in contact with a relative of Benjamin Hart Riggs that has provided information about him.
