The use of brackets and question mark implies that it cannot be proved from the sources Torrey used but that he believed it might be correct (possibly using the same evidence that Evan has quoted - Mary Riggs being the daughter of Daniel Munne is the most likely reason for Daniel to leave her all his estate).
