Hi, Bobby and fellow searchers, Has anyone ever looked into the possibility that Rachel might have been a Tipton, since they named one of their daughters Lavina Tipton Riggs? I did a little bit of checking awhile back, and found an Aquilla Tipton from NJ who had one or two children who moved to TN. He did have a daughter Rachel, but as I recall the dates were too far off. Jesse RIGGS brother Clisby RIGGS married a Jane EVANS so there could be a connection there. No Jane EVANS is listed as a child of Loverance EVANS; the person who was father of Rachel EVANS who married a Jesse RIGGS. Loverance EVANS; ca 174?--1820 married Sarah? Children born in Burke Co, NC Children: Catherine: 1767--1852 m. 1783 Charles BAKER Henry: 1769--1849 m. Polly? Rachel 1797? m. Jesse RIGGS Rachels birth information could have been wrong.......she could have been born in 1771 to this family. This info sheet says Catherine and Charles BAKER were in Lincoln Co, TN in 1786. This is doubtful because Lincoln Co, TN was INDIAN LAND until year ca 1800.......
