If anyone is looking in Washington County, Ohio for RIGGS, I have two pages from a History of Washington County, Ohio that list RIGGS. Those men listed are Isaac, Hezekiah, Squire, James and Basil. Also, this might help someone, though I can't tell you what the all the reference letters stand for, but I beleive that MGS is "Maryland Genealogical Society" -- RIGGS. Charles RIGGS was born June 8, 1756 and resided on the Potomac River near Hoe's Ferry in Charles County, Maryland. He enlisted on March 29, 1777 at Portobacco for three years in Col. John STONE's Maryland Troops and became a Corporal in the Maryland Line. (Ref: MRR:44) He applied for and received pension S32484 in Greenup County, Kentucky in 1832 and soon thereafter moved to Wabash County, Illinois and requeste his pension to be transferred. (Ref: MS:42, MRP:33, RSP:86) Edmund RIGGS married Jane WILSON in 1799 in Montgomery County, Maryland and moved to Jessamine County, Kentucky, They had five sons: Robert, Barzel, James, Edmund and Douglas (Ref: MGS 14:2, May 1973, PP. 14-15)
