I posted a query on a Nancy Riggs born about 1805 Ray County, MO. That may be entirely wrong, as I was kindly informed that there was no Ray County, MO in 1805 It wasn't even Missouri Territory yet. Does anyone have a Nancy Riggs of about that time born elsewhere, who married a Spalwn? She married Mayberry Splawn born 1801 TN. Does anyone know who this Nancy Riggs belongs to? Sue ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! The Louisiana Territory was created in 1805. By 1820 Howard was a well established county in the North Western portion of MO. Ray County was formed from the central and greatest portion of Howard County, by 1830. The County book I have covers the changes by decades, and doesn't list exact dates. In 1830, Ray county included all of what today is Harrison, Daviess, Caldwell, Ray, Carroll, Livingston, Grundy and Mercer Counties. If Nancy was born in 1805 she may have shown up on the extant federal census of 1830, when Ray County was recorded. Wish I could help more- Christen Catherine Hodnett wrote: >I posted a query on a Nancy Riggs born about 1805 Ray County, MO.
