You have some of the same names that are in the Riggs in Surry County, NC, just a little later, around 1780; however, Craven County is so close to SC that I would think many of the people went on to SC instead of turning west through Surry. First witnessed a deed in Beaufort Co. NC in 1744. The name Jesse runs through this family about five or six generations. The name Jesse Levin Riggs is the name for all but the first one. The Levin came from Wheelton family and know that name was in Accomack early on.
