List Members I have a book "The Making of Illinois" by Mather, published by Flanagan Co. of Chicago in 1922. On Pgs 126-128 there is information about a Capt. Riggs, who rescued men at Prairie du Chien, The place where the attack occurred was called Campbell's Island in 1814. He was the commandor of the Illinois Rangers.
