We are a group of Riggs cousins who all descend from Abraham Riggs who was age 13 when he and his brother Isaac Riggs age 15 were brought to Accomack County, Virginia in the year 1687 under the Headrights law until reaching the age of 21. Today our line is spread across America and beyond. We suspect some of our early Accomack Riggs went to Maryland and North Carolina. But have not been able to prove this. A large number of our line have been found in Kentucky, in Washington, Daviess, McLean and other Counties. Also Arkansas, Louisiana and too many other places to mention.
