My g-grand aunt Elizabeth Davenport (1856-1937) married Walter M D Riggs (1850-1933) at Cheboygan, MI in 1874. We both share relation with their descendants. You thru Walter's side and me thru Elizabeth's side. You and Walter Riggs have common ancestors named Edward Riggs (1614-abt 1670) and Elizabeth Roosa (1618-bef 1700). U descend thru their son Edward (1668-abt 1708) and Walter descends thru Edward's brother Joseph (abt 1675-1744). Its pretty distant but relation nonetheless.
