My wife's ancestor was Thomas RIGGS, B 1802 KY or TN and died in Bandera, TX. When we visited the graveside, the headstone said Thomas Augusta RIGGS. We have never seen anything with his middle name as Augustus. I am curious about your John Augustus. Is this Augustus a family name carried down to other generations? Of does it come another Augustus. Thomas is a popular name in our RIGGS family. Thad Greer, AZ
