    3. Hi, Bobby: We have no definite proof that we are descended from Captain Edward. Our Gggrandfather was Thomas Riggs who married Rhoda Casey in Alabama in 1821 and from there back we are blocked. Our ggrand parents were John C. and Elizabeth Jane Johnson Riggs who were killed by Indians in Bell County, Texas in 1859. Our grandfather was William Carroll Riggs (b. 1856) the oldest son of John and Jane Riggs. The purpose of this message is to tell you that my sister, Rhoda Riggs Nicol, has started putting markers on all of our family unmarked graves, as she and I are probably the only members of this Riggs family who know where these burials are. I hope you are successful in your attempt to get these burials marked for future generations. If you have any info regarding the parentage of either Thomas or Rhoda Casey Riggs I would be most happy to pay for copies. We also want you to know that we really appreciate all the hard work you have done gathering info on the many branches of the Riggs family. Mary E.
