She married Curtis Satterlee and they lived in Edgar County, Illinois. She died in 1881. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
This may not be the same Nancy Riggs, but the dates and locations are remarkable. One of my ancestor relatives is Nancy Riggs, born after 1800, married William Steele in 1829 in Monongalia County, Ohio. Nancy Riggs Steel, left with a large family, came to Ohio in a covered wagon from Virginia. The U.S. had given her mother forty acres in Iowa, which by common consent, was given to Nancy. They went to Carson City, Nevada during the gold and silver boom. They organized in Omaha, Nebraska, for the trip to California, making seven caravans that were going. They secured larger covered wagons and guide book. They traded with the Indians on friendly terms. They made the trip in four months in 1860.
