Hi Sandra, My Samuel Riggs was born in 1796 we think now either TN or SC. But I am not positive of that yet. His father may have been a William Riggs who died in 1828. None of his children bear the name of Rachel, though. That may or may not mean anything. As far as I know now, Samuel came from Bedford Co.,TN to MO around 1820. They moved around quite a bit working their way west, ending up in Ray, Daviess and Grudny Co., MO.
