This Mary (Lee) RIGGS is (#2) wife of Samuel RIGGS [1760--1846]. SAMUEL RIGGS & JESSEE RIGGS TO MARY RIGGS Registered 11 March 1844 We Samuel RIGGS & Jessee RIGGS of the County of Hawkins & State of Tennessee Bind Ourselves to pay Thomas G. LEE the Sum of five thousand dollars. The Conditions of the above obligation that whereas Samuel RIGGS & Mary RIGGS his wife for certain Reasons cannot live together as man & wife & whereas the Said Mary RIGGS has this day conveyed Jointly with Samuel RIGGS for certain considerations not herein mentioned, all her right, title, claim, interest & demand in and to the entire Landed Estate of the said Samuel RIGGS to William Henderson RIGGS in Trust for certain purposes & whereas the said Mary RIGGS is in possession of certain lands & personal property bequeathed to her during her natural life by her former husband Thomas LEE, deceased now of the said Samuel RIGGS & Jessee RIGGS should keep the said Mary RIGGS in the peaceable & unmolested possession of said property do bequeath to the said Mary RIGGS from themselves their heirs & representatives, or any person claiming under them lawfully then this obligation to be void otherwise, to remain in full force & virtue this Seventh day of March 1844, One thousand eight hundred and forty four.
