    1. [RIGGS-L] William Riggs born 1750 MD

    3. I am looking for more information on a William Riggs born 3 Dec 1750 Cecil, MD, who married Mary Dodson, born 17 Dec 1755 MD. I have two of their children listed as Jeremiah, born abt 1794 MD, and Mahlon, born 1792 Md. Does anyone know if there are more children: and is there a Samuel listed for this family born 1796? I have come across some indication that the father of my Samuel Riggs born in 1796, possibly Tn or SC, could be a William. Samuel witnessed a will written by William Riggs, and probated 3 Jan 1828 Ray Co., MO. This comes from a series of books called "Missouri Pioneers", vol. 8, p.49, if anyone has access to these books? Samuel seems to have been moving around with his inlaws, the Splawns. Two of the Splawn brothers appear to have moved into MO before it became a state in 1821, John and Mayberry. Samuel appears living close to them. They came out of SC, to Bedford and Jefferson Co., TN, moving on to MO. They appear in Chariton Co. Samuel is on an 1821 tax list there. He appears in Saline county, on an 1830 census. Later on he is in Ray, Daviess and possibly Grundy. His wife Sebrina lives in Grundy Co., MO for quite ahwile, outliving Samuel and marrying secondly Peter Goodwin, or Goodman. In 1880 she is living next to her brother Isaac, who appears to be raising some of his sister's children: a nephew, Monroe, and an Ezra, and a boy with the last name of White. It is quite possible that one of Samuel and Sebrina's girls married a White. There was a girl name Phariha born in 1832, and a Francis Mary, born in 1839, and there was a Nanroe, born either 1845 or 1855. In our list of children for Samuel and Sebrina, I did not have a Monroe or an Ezra. I am wondering if they came from the second marriage to Goodman? And I still wonder why her brother Isaac is raising them? In 1880, Sebrina is housing some of Charity Riggs Huttons children. Charity being an older daughter of Samuel and Sebrina's. When Charity died, her husband remarried, and the kids did not get along with the new stepmother, so went to grandmother Sebrina's to live. Also, interested in their oldest daughter Mary, who married William Hoover. Mary was born in 18245 andWilliam was born 1816 Ohio. Anybody have more on this couple? Also, son John, born in 1827, married Barriba Allen. I have some information coming concerining this couple. There is also a son William, of Samuel and Sebrina, which enforces the thought that maybe his father was the William I have mentioned above who left the will. I have just gotten hold of this new lead, so am just beginning to search it out. William was born in 1829, and I don't know who he may have married.
