    2. I was sent a report on the settlement of William Riggs estate, who died in Jan 1, 1828 Ray County, MO. I can't hardly read it, but the administrator of that will was a Reuben Riggs. I am almost positive that our Samuel Riggs, born 1793/1796, was related to this William somehow, and to Reuben Riggs also. And our Samuel Riggs had a father-in-law, John Splawn, who witnessed the will of this William Riggs along with Samuel. It appears I am not going to be able to find a copy of this will. Everyone I contact tells me that there are no records back as far as 1828 in MO that they can find. The estate settlement for William apparently had quite a few pages, but I am told that they are so fragile that the man who found them didn't want to risk copying them all. What I recieved was the final settlement of his estate. I can find no mention of names in it, with the exception of William, and his administrator, Reuben. It looks like the date of this final settlement was Sep. 11, 1848. Does anyone out there have a settement report signed by Reuben Riggs? But as I said, it is very hard to read. What I have been sent comes from the Ray County Historical Society and Roy Fehlman.
