Now broadened to discover all main Riggs families. Two have been identified so far. Project goals: 1) To collect a wide sampling of Riggs YDNA to determine the main Riggs families in the US - in fact, worldwide. (2) To determine "Edwardian" Riggs family members, in particular - that is, descendants of Edward Riggs who immigrated to Roxbury MA in 1633 from England. Unfortunately as we all know, much of the papertrail has been unfortunately lost through the decades forever that could assist us in knowing how the Riggs family lines connects to the early Riggs families. This project will clearly demonstrate the power of DNA testing to help prove paternity issues where clear documentation is lacking. If you carry the Riggs surname, consider joining the Riggs YDNA group study so we can with certainty connect the Riggs families lines through today's available DNA science.
