To those of you who have also been researching the family of Reuben RIGGS [1747--1837] and Mary CRAWFORD........ Just this week I have hopefully found another of Reuben's UNKNOWN daughters. In his "Last Will and Testament" in 1833 Giles Co, TN, Reuben states that "he leaves 2 dollars each to his Grandsons, Thomas P. NORTON, Reuben W. RUNNELS (REYNOLDS), William CONDON, and Jeremiah HENDERSON". I have located Jeremiah HENDERSON and his father Thomas HENDERSON on the Claiborne Co, TN website. A very helpful person sent me the following on the family of Thomas HENDERSON [1770--1856/57]: Thomas HENDERSON: Born abt 1770 in NC (80 years old in 1850 Census of Claiborne Co, TN) and died ca 1856/57 in Claiborne Co, TN. Owned 145 acres of land worth $1,000.00 in 1839 Claiborne Co, TN Tax List. 1850 Census of Claiborne Co, TN: Thomas HENDERSON, 80; (2nd wife)Elizabeth, 45; Thomas, 18; John, 16; Louiza, 14; George, 12; Hugh, 10; visitor Martha HARDY, 75, wife Elizabeth's mother.......At age 19 when Thomas was 19 he married Elizabeth "Betsy" RIGGS (dau of Reuben RIGGS). She was born ca 1770 in NC and died before 1827 when Thomas married his second wife Elizabeth Susan "Betsy" HARDY, born 5 Jun 1795 in VA and died near Jonesville, VA aft 1860. The children of Thomas HENDERSON and 1st Wife Elizabeth "Betsy" RIGGS were: 1. Rhoda: 1790--? 2. Mary "Polly": 1792--1871 3. Jeremiah "Jerry" HENDERSON: 1795--1852 (his property inventoried in 1856) 1850 Census of Claiborne Co, TN: Jeremiah HENDERSON, 55; Elizabeth, 54; Garrett, 24; Sarah J., 21; William, 19; John, 17; Nelson, 14; Joshua, 11; Calvin, 9; kin to Jeremiah; Louiza, 17. Jeremiah married Elizabeth "Betsy" MILLS ca 1817. Their 12 children were: i. Caroline: 1819--1889 ii. Adeline Sarah: 1820--1861 iii. Perlina [Paulina]: 1823--? iv. Garrett: 1826--? v.
