Is this the same Elizabeth RIGGS who was married to Edward RIGGS [1786--1824] son of David RIGGS [1749--1837]and Miriam WRIGHT. Elizabeth SHUFFIELD (SHEFFIELD) dau of Arthur and Lucretia Hogan SHUFFIELD was born 10 Nov 1793 and died 05 Sep 1855. The children of Edward and Elizabeth RIGGS were: Mary B. RIGGS: 05 Oct 1814--11 Jan 1843 m. James T. BYLER or BRYLES Lucinda RIGGS: m. John T. STREET on 15 Mar 1842 Marshall Co, TN Miriam W. RIGGS: m. ? TAYLOR Edward W. RIGGS: m. Mary FERGUSON on 14 Jun 1842 Edward RIGGS and wife Elizabeth and daughter Mary B. are all buried at RIGGS Cemetery, located on Billie WARNER's place, east side of Highway 31-A, North of Chapel Hill, Marshall County, Tennessee. Located at OLD GIDIONVILLE, TN. Elizabeth RIGGS married Robert DURHAM on 13 Jan 1841 in Lincoln Co, TN; could he have died and she reverted back to RIGGS surname before her death in 1855? Bobby G. According to David Riggs' family Bible, Edward Riggs was born 16 April 1786. Family papers indicate he married "Miss Sheffield." This appears to be the same family. I don't have any information about a Durham marriage.
