I'm researching a John M. Vanderpool, who married an unknown Riggs woman in either North Carolina or Kentucky sometime between 1800 and 1812. My line is James Vanderpool, their first son, born in 1813. I note that James lives next to a Reddin Riggs in Indiana (Lawrence County) in 1850, and I am hoping to work back from Reddin to see if this leads me to the father of this unknown Riggs woman. She would be the mother of James Vanderpool. Reddin, born in 1800, might well be the uncle of James Vanderpool. If you are researching Reddin Riggs (who lives near James in Washington County, Indiana, in 1840 as well), I would very much like to be in contact with you. (My guess is that this woman's father was James Riggs, and if you are researching the man of that name who lives in North Carolina during the late 1700s, I'd like to hear from you too.) Donn Neal
