This was not addressed to me: forgive me for sort of butting in. According to a list member who shares my line, my Samuel was the son of Edward (The Planter) Riggs, . But I'm intrigued by the reference to cherokee in your addy: My ancestor Mahala Riggs was reputed to be part Cherokee Indian. Not through the Riggs line, necessarily. We hope the mtDNA will shed light on this. Hope, anyway! Perhaps you've already shared this with the list, but I don't seem to have a record of it: Where was your RIGGS line located around the time of Zadoc and Samuel Riggs? My Samuel Riggs and his son Lott Riggs are both buried in Surry Co., NC. (I'd have to look up the dates to be sure, but early to mid 19th century.) Lott Riggs was my 4th gr-grandfather, Samuel Riggs my 5th gr-grandfather.
