    3. Anne asked about the Riggs Family Genealogy by J. H. Wallace. This book is available on microfilm from the Family Histry Library of the LDS Church. I have a copy made from the film and it prints out at about 100 pages. Remember that there are several differences of opinion about certain sections of the book. In other words some of the information contained needs to be documented more thoroughly. Frank Neher

    3. The Louisiana Territory was created in 1805. By 1820 Howard was a well established county in the North Western portion of MO. Ray County was formed from the central and greatest portion of Howard County, by 1830. The County book I have covers the changes by decades, and doesn't list exact dates. In 1830, Ray county included all of what today is Harrison, Daviess, Caldwell, Ray, Carroll, Livingston, Grundy and Mercer Counties. If Nancy was born in 1805 she may have shown up on the extant federal census of 1830, when Ray County was recorded. Wish I could help more- Christen Catherine Hodnett wrote: >I posted a query on a Nancy Riggs born about 1805 Ray County, MO. 3. Hi Jim, You'll find that I eventually replied to you last night ;-)) As you'll see from my web-page listing my genealogical credentials, I'm actively involved in a great number of genealogical/family history organisations and activities. I can't always therefore guarantee a response by return, I'm afraid, especially if it involves researching my records to help answer it. However, as a member of the Guild of One-Name Studies, I observe their rule that all contacts should be responded to within a reasonable time - in your case it was 5 days from your original e-mail of 9th May and 3 from your "chaser" of 11th May.
