    2. Milquet
    3. I am looking for information regarding James Alonzo RIGGS (1817-1832). He married Charlotte Matilda LAKEY (? - 1858) possibly in Westchester County, NY. Charolotte's father was John Warren LAKEY. He was born in England and came to America in 1811. John Warren LAKEY married Abigail REYNOLDS (1790-1832), a grand-daughter of Captain Moses REYNOLDS of Revolutionary war fame, in Bedford, Westchester County, NY. John and Abigail had 3 children: Charlotte Matilda LAKEY (? - 1858) married James Alonzo RIGGS Thomas Reynolds LAKEY (1814-1903) married Lucinda Elizabeth BERRY (1820-1901) Lucinda LAKEY (1816-1908) married Samuel PARDEE (?-?) Does anyone know any more about these families? Thanks Mary Kay www.itol.com/~milquet

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Riggs Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HSDBAIB/1179.2.1 Message Board Post: July 15, 2002 To: Pat Alexander From: Sandra Patterson Pat, I read your message dated 16 Sep 2001 and am still looking for Ignatius Riggs place of death and burial. I have made several inquiries for a death notice in and around Livingston County, MO, with no success. I have court documents that indicate Phoebe Bolen Harper and Ignatius Riggs were divorced on July 5, 1873, in Chillocothe, MO. You mentioned he died in 1857, could this be a typographical error. According to the 1880 Missouri census Ignatius was still living in Chillocothe, MO. I am very sure we are following the same Riggs family, because my grandfather, John W. Riggs, was a brother to Silas and Benjamin Hart Riggs. I have been in contact with a relative of Benjamin Hart Riggs that has provided information about him.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HSDBAIB/1268.1 Message Board Post: July 15, 2002 To: Catherine Burke From: Sandra Patterson Catherine, there is documentation through census and the "Washington Co., Kentucky Bicentennial History" pages 340 & 380 that Ignatius married Phobe Bolen Harper in Sturgis, Union Co., KY on Feb. 6, 1839. Ignatius Riggs was listed in Union Co., KY on the 1840 census (019) You might want to research the Union Co., KY census to find Phoebe's parent names. He and Phoebe were listed on the 1850 Bond Co., ILL census, page 393. Elizabeth Harper listed as age 13 on the Riggs family household. Phoebe Bolen Harper was the second wife of Ignatius according to the Kentucky Bicentennial History on Roots Web under Peter(s)/Haydon/Combs/Davidson Ancestors. I have not researched Phoebe Bolen Harper's background at this time to know if Elizabeth is Phoebe's sister or related in some other way. Phoebe would have been 18 years older than Elizabeth according to the 1850 Bond, ILL census records. I have court documents that Phoebe and Ignatius divorced in July 1873 when they were in Chillocothe, MO. Missouri.

    3. Hi Evan, Thanks for your response. I too have not been able to find any documentation from New Jersey on Jacob Riggs. But I did find in the Morris County Death index on the Morris County Rootsweb site his DOD which is the same as I had in the records. But it listed his age as 34 when he died and this would put his year of birth as 1763 instead of 1769. The information I have came from family Bible records. If you can shed any light to Jacob and his family, I would greatly appreciate you.
